We are looking for a to contribute to the maintenance of the Genomics group at the cutting edge of technology and applications. This will involve staying up to date with the latest advancements in the field and implementing them ad hoc to ensure that our Genomics efforts remain at the forefront. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and execution of strategic initiatives in Genomics. Your role will also involve providing scientific support for experiments and projects, leveraging your expertise in Genomics. By collaborating with the team, you will play a crucial part in achieving our research goals and driving the overall success of the Genomics group

A Day in the Life of a Senior Specialist Genomics

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop cutting-edge research projects, driving genomics innovation projects, concepts, and ideas that align with Nestlé Research's mission
• Embrace innovation as a catalyst for change:
• Provide expertise, scientific support, and perform genomics experiments using technologies such as Next Generation Sequencing, microarrays, liquid-handling robotics, PCR, and RT PCR, contributing to significant advancements in our field
• Make a meaningful impact on our world:
• Engage with diverse experts and thought leaders to inspire fresh thinking and drive entrepreneurial initiatives, while collaborating with and providing guidance to Nestlé Research, other R&D centers, and operations to identify needs and define experimental strategies
• Foster a culture of creativity and growth:
• Monitor relevant external technologies in both academia and industry, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in genomics. Evaluate and implement new protocols and technologies to improve data quality and workflow, while developing and enhancing methods by identifying gaps and proposing solutions. Act as an interface between data production and data analysis, improving efficiency for data interpretation and technology evaluation, and identifying opportunities for improvements such as data quality control, utilizing basic bioinformatics knowledge
• Stay at the forefront of science:

What Will Make You Successful

• Hold a Ph.D. in molecular biology/genomics and biology
• Extensive experience and proven expertise in genomics instrumentation, methods, and applications
• Oversight of genomics project execution
• Strong understanding of genomics data, along with foundational skills in data analysis
• Versatile and adaptable, with a range of skills applicable to various tasks and functions
• Capable of working independently and demonstrating initiative
• Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in diverse teams, fostering an environment that encourages fresh thinking and values contributions. Display openness, flexibility, and creativity in problem-solving while cultivating strong networking and teamwork abilities
• Proven track record in driving innovative projects that challenge the status quo and contribute to breakthrough solutions, alongside experience in modeling or diet formulation
