      Main Tasks and Responsibilities

      • Organize and manage the core facility (finance, organization, processes, investments, R&D ...)
      • Implement health and safety measures related to all EPiX machines
      • Conduct MOVPE of III-V semiconductors and heterojunctions
      • Contribute to the overall expertise in epitaxy in different material systems, working in synergy with other EPiX team members
      • Supervise the activities of the staff and organize their missions (service, training (especially Master and PhD students), maintenance and research & development projects)
      • Prepare and coordinate the installation of the instruments, manage instrument's maintenance and operation
      • Implement the strategy and improvement measures prepared periodically with the Academic Director and the EPIX board
      • Prepare the financial planning, supervise the financial reporting and controls for the EPIX board and the finance responsible of the Vice Presidency for Academic Affairs (VPA)
      • Contribute to the reputation of research conducted at EPFL, through the successful execution of the core facility's primary and subsidiary missions. Keep a survey of other Epi-facilities and good practices
      • Ensure the satisfaction of core facility's users, through the availability of highperformance, customer-oriented equipment and services
      • Proposes doctoral courses and contribute to continuing education
      • Desired Profile
      • Extensive expertise in MOVPE of III-V semiconductors, with a proven track record in both research and practical applications
      • Experience or knowledge of Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) operation and processes is highly appreciated
      • Exceptional leadership abilities, capable of managing and inspiring a diverse team working with various epitaxy tools to ensure top-tier research and innovation
      • Strategic vision with the capability to drive the long-term growth and success of the platform
      • Fluent command of English, both written and spoken, to effectively communicate in an international work environment
      • Outstanding interpersonal and collaborative skills, fostering a positive, results-driven team culture
      • PhD in a relevant field is highly preferred; however, candidates with significant industry experience and practical expertise may also be considered
