We are seeking a to join our VARO team at the corporate level. This role will be responsible for maintaining, analyzing, and optimizing master data across our group of companies, with a primary focus on ERP system. The successful candidate will ensure the accuracy, consistency and integrity of master data supporting business processes YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Setup and maintain master data related to Products, Terminals, Locations, Ship Codes, Customers, Suppliers, Chart of Accounts, Business Units, Calendars and other critical data in JD Edwards Ensure master data compliance with company policies and standards, implementing audit checks to maintain high-quality data Analyze data inconsistencies and anomalies to provide insights for process improvements Data Analysis & Reporting: Work closely with Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain, IT and other departments to align master data strategies with business needs Cross-Functional Collaboration: Identify and implement best practices for data governance, automation and process efficiencies within JDE Provide support, training and documentation to end-users to ensure correct usage of master data elements Participate in system upgrades, data migrations and ERP integration projects to ensure seamless transitions and adherence to data governance principles Ensure that master data adheres to internal controls, industry regulations and data security policies media only screen and (max-width: 767px) { #block-7 { padding-top: 100px !important; padding-bottom: 50px !important; } } Qualification & Experience Business Administration, Information Systems or related field Minimum of of experience in master data management, preferably in a organization Hands-on experience with is preferred; familiarity with other ERP systems is a plus Proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools is an advantage Technical Skills: Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for data accuracy and integrity Ability to troubleshoot data issues and recommend solutions proactively Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with stakeholders across different functions and levels in the organization Experience in establishing and improving master data governance frameworks WE OFFER A professional and very well connected work environment with a young and international team in a growing company Gateway to the world of commodity trading. THE POSITION The (Senior) Business Controller for Supply & Trading Switzerland serves as a strategic finance leader and trusted advisor for the Swiss gasoline, diesel, and heating oil businesses. This position is integral to enabling high-quality decision-making through accurate financial reporting, deep performance insight, and proactive business planning. As a mini-CFO for the Supply & Trading business unit, the role has significant visibility and influence across trading desks, commercial teams, and senior management In addition to overseeing the full performance management cycle—ranging from month-end close and financial forecasting to business plan preparation—the controller will play a pivotal role in digital finance transformation, process automation, and driving data-driven decision-making. The individual will engage with stakeholders across functions and countries, contributing to VARO’s transition towards a low-carbon energy future while ensuring the integrity of financial governance and performance Act as the lead financial partner for the Swiss Supply & Trading business, advising senior commercial leadership on financial KPIs, profitability, and risk Lead the monthly closing and performance reporting cycle in close cooperation with Accounting, Risk, and Trading Develop and manage rolling forecasts, variance analyses, and business plans for gasoline, diesel, and heating oil products Provide high-quality analysis and insights to support margin optimization, supply chain efficiency, and hedging strategies Drive alignment between financial outcomes and strategic business goals across cross-functional teams Coordinate with auditors, finance functions, and business controllers across Europe to ensure consistency and compliance with IFRS and internal standards Drive the automation of financial reporting and forecasting processes, supporting the transition from Excel-heavy workflows to ERP-integrated dashboards (e.g., JDE, VISTA) Lead or support key transformation initiatives, particularly in the context of decarbonization and regulatory adaptation in the fuels market Continuously optimize controlling and reporting frameworks to improve efficiency, accuracy, and transparency abilities Deep expertise in financial control, accounting, and financial strategy Ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights Analytical mindset with strong critical thinking skills High IT affinity with experience in ERP systems (JDE/VISTA) and digital finance transformation Strong interpersonal skills to engage with senior business leaders, auditors, and cross-functional teams Ability to drive process improvements and financial innovation Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field 5+ years of experience in financial control, business analysis, or strategic finance, preferably in a trading, refining, or commodity environment Strong background in IFRS financial closing and reporting cycles Experience with ERP systems (e.g., JDE, VISTA) and digital finance tools WE OFFER A professional and very well connected work environment with a young and international Team in a growing company An attractive workplace in Baar with great development opportunities within an international, corporate environment Attractive salary and bonus structures, as well as an employer-financed pension and accident insurance Further benefits directed towards both physical training and self-development Hiring with Homerun
