Responsibilities Design, implement, deliver, and maintain systems that handle large volumes, variety, and velocity of data Create and test data pipelines, data models, and data architectures Leading contributor to the overall product’s architecture and design (including storage strategies) Drive innovation in the team and the whole Product Group, propose and contribute to valuable improvements Participate actively in building the technology roadmap Help improve the team's development best practices Handle L3 support requests (together with the rest of the team) Support and mentor other team members Work with the agile iterative/incremental mindset and best practices, and participate actively in the different ceremonies Qualifications BSc in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience), MSc preferred Strong Java development experience (experience with other languages a plus) Experience with Docker, Kafka, ClickHouse, Micronaut, AWS, and Data Dog is highly valuable Familiarity with Git, Gradle, Jenkins, and Sonar Outstanding OO & Functional programming skills, data structures, algorithms & distributed computing know-how Strong refactoring and test automation abilities Experience with various query languages Passion for continuous improvement, lean thinking, and high-quality work Strong motivation for complex challenges and learning new technologies Excellent communication and teamwork skills, professional level of English, spoken and written. Job Description We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer with experience building and operating AI-powered software systems. You will join one of the AI teams and be responsible for prototyping, maturing and shipping AI features to a production-ready level. You will also integrate external AI services (e.g., LLM providers) into Nexthink’s cloud platform. You are a pragmatic, results-driven engineer who understands modern AI stacks but thinks in terms of software reliability, performance and user impact. You focus on creating scalable, observable solutions that solve real-world problems for our customers. Because the role is cross-functional, the ability to communicate complex concepts in simple ways is essential. You will collaborate with product, design, front-end and infrastructure teams to bring delightful AI features to life. Responsibilities: As part of the AI team at Nexthink, you will: Implement new AI features with high-quality coding standards and automated test coverage Solve the engineering challenges behind data collection, retrieval, evaluation and inference at scale Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for AI components, ensuring safe, repeatable deployments Instrument robust online/offline evaluation metrics and dashboards to monitor quality in production Proactively propose new product capabilities or improvements based on user data and technology advances Stay current with the rapidly evolving AI engineering ecosystem and share knowledge with the Nexthink community Mentor junior engineers in best practices for shipping and operating AI features in production Communicate effectively with (non-technical) stakeholders such as product managers and UX designers Qualifications BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field 5+ years professional software-engineering experience, including shipping and operating cloud services in production Experience in integrating with LLMs (e.g. Prompting, Evaluation, Observability) Demonstrated success delivering AI-powered features that serve real users at scale (e.g., retrieval-augmented search, Generative AI assistants, predictive analytics) Fluency in Python or at least one strongly-typed language (TypeScript or Java), with clean-code and testing discipline Solid grasp of cloud-native architectures (AWS or comparable), containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes / ECS) Hands-on experience with MLOps: reproducible pipelines, automated evaluations, feature stores, CI/CD for models or prompt/embedding configs Strong data intuition: ability to inspect raw logs, design metrics and quickly identify quality regressions Product mindset and empathy for end-users; able to translate fuzzy product requirements into incremental engineering plans Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English (spoken & written) If you’re excited about pushing the boundaries of AI and mentoring the next generation of engineers, we’d love to hear from you!
