Having integrated and flown 4 electric airplanes, the Swiss start-up has been selected by Pratt & Whitney Canada to provide the battery pack for its regional hybrid-electric flight demonstrator. This recent announcement is a further illustration of H55’s position as a major enabler in the electric commuter market. About the role The position will be based in the H55’s headquarters in Sion, Switzerland. This role will be within a Fixed-term contract and will report to the Head of Integration & Testing team, and will be primarily focused on developing test activities on Li-ion cells and modules and power electronics, to enable new energy storage system designs based on state-of-the-art technologies and materials. Responsibilities Test Operations: Operate, control, and monitor test benches for various applications. Execute test protocols both at the Sion facility and at supplier locations within Switzerland. Test Setup & Configuration: Prepare test setups, including mechanical and electrical configurations. Manufacture wire harnesses and other hardware required for tests. Ensure accurate configuration management throughout testing. Test Development: Assist in the assembly and development of test benches as needed. Troubleshoot issues during testing and contribute to the continuous improvement of test processes. Data Management: Record, document, and report test results with high accuracy. Ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures. Your Profile Skills & Experience: Strong foundation in automation systems, including configuration management. Safety culture, careful and conscientious. Ability to prepare and execute test setups with a meticulous and diligent approach. Proficient in hardware setup, including the manufacture of wire harnesses and other components. Experience with measurement tools (Oscilloscope,...) Good understanding of basic IT tools Practical experience with LabVIEW or TestStand is a plus English intermediate, French is a plus but not mandatory. Your Role H55 are seeking an experienced and passionate Airworthiness Engineer to manage activities related to maintaining and developing our EASA Part 21 Subpart J Design Organisation Approval. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the design organisation operates in full compliance with EASA regulations, while leading the continuous improvement of design and certification processes. This is a key position with significant cross-functional influence across engineering, quality, safety, and regulatory affairs. Your Role As the Software Team Leader, you will be part of the Design Organization (DOA PART-21J). The perimeter of the software team covers the development and verification of embedded software activities related to the H55 Electric Propulsion System performed at H55 HQ in Sion. You will report to the Head of Design Organization. Your main responsibilities will include: Your Responsibilities Lead & Develop the Software Team Organize, guide, and support the team to meet project objectives. Provide clear direction while filtering and prioritizing requests to maintain focus. Foster a high-performance culture through mentorship and technical guidance. Strategic & Operational Team Management Ensure team skills align with project needs and establish training plans to enhance efficiency. Define and implement a roadmap for team growth, in line with H55’s long-term vision. Allocate resources effectively to meet program requirements. Establish and monitor team budgets. Cross-functional Integration & Collaboration Ensure seamless interaction between the software team and other departments. Report team progress and key insights to the Head of Design Organization. Oversee and ensure compliance with company standards and processes, particularly as H55 moves towards certification. Technical & Regulatory Compliance Support product milestone reviews with technical expertise. Manage external suppliers contributing to the team’s activities. Ensure adherence to aviation standards and certification requirements. Education & Experience You have demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in highly fast changing environment. Specifically, this includes: Bachelor’s or higher degree in Software Engineering or a relevant discipline. Minimum 7+ years of experience in software development, with leadership responsibilities. Strong knowledge of embedded software development and verification. Leadership & Decision-Making Proven experience managing teams in a fast-paced and evolving environment. Ability to make strategic and tactical decisions based on trade-offs between cost, time, quality, safety, and performance. Skilled at developing collaboration and enabling team-driven decisions. Technical & Regulatory Expertise Good Understanding of aviation software standards, including: ARP 4754, DO-178, DO-331, DO-330. Basic knowledge of EASA Part 21, EASA Certification Specifications, and certification principles. Strong problem-solving skills with a structured, analytical mindset. Excellent organizational and documentation abilities. Strong communication skills, capable of working with diverse teams. Experience in task management and SCRUM methodologies (a plus).
