We are looking for two Mechanical Product Designers to join our dynamic R&D department in Saint-Prex. In this role, you will be at the heart of: Sustaining and improving our existing product portfolio Driving standardization and digitalization initiatives Designing new connectivity solutions that meet tomorrow’s needs From initial feasibility to full industrialization, you will deliver qualified concepts aligned with project timelines, budgets, manufacturing methods, and quality standards. You will also be responsible for creating all related technical documentation and managing change processes. Your expertise will support product verification through simulation, prototype testing, and qualification. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams – R&D, business development, manufacturing, and quality – and engage directly with customers and suppliers to bring innovative solutions to life. WHAT YOU WILL DO IN YOUR ROLE Contribute to the design of new, customized, or enhanced products by conducting feasibility studies, functional analyses, cost estimations, CAD modelling and drawings, and preparing qualification test plans, assembly instructions, and user manuals. Ensure a structured and traceable development process by applying Engineering Change Management throughout the Product Development Process. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams – including electronics, engineering, signal integrity, tooling, process, and manufacturing – to deliver product designs that meet validation and verification requirements. Guarantee product quality by applying relevant international standards, engineering methodologies, and internal guidelines. Continuously develop and maintain technical expertise by leveraging internal design guidelines and standards. THE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS YOU WILL BRING CFC in CAD Design or a technical diploma in microtechnology, mechanics, electronics, or a related field. Proven experience in product development, particularly in electrical connectivity. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. CREO). Hands-on experience with PLM systems (e.g. WINDCHILL) and ERP platforms (e.g. SAP). Good knowledge of manufacturing methods, materials, coatings, and surface treatments. Expertise in dimensioning and tolerancing, including tolerance stack-up analysis. WHAT WILL PUT YOU AHEAD Demonstrated passion for new product development and innovation. Highly organized, methodical, and detail-oriented. Proficient in both French (fluent) and English (minimum B2 level). Proactive mindset with strong learning agility. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Capable of delivering results independently and collaboratively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a team-oriented approach.

For our R&D Department in Saint-Prex, we are looking for an R&D Product Development Engineer to shape the future of connectivity. In this dynamic role, you will define and design cutting-edge connectivity solutions while continuously enhancing and optimizing existing products to meet evolving technical demands and market expectations. You will lead the entire design engineering journey – from initial concept through to full-scale production – guided by our structured Product Development Process (PDP). Your mission: to deliver robust, qualified design solutions that meet performance, cost, and quality targets within defined timelines. As a key contributor, you will drive product verification through advanced simulations and prototype testing, followed by final validation supported by rigorous failure analysis. Collaboration is central to this role: you will work closely with cross-functional teams including Business Development, Manufacturing, and Quality, while also engaging directly with customers and suppliers to ensure alignment and excellence. This is more than a technical role – it’s an opportunity to innovate, lead, and make a lasting impact on the next generation of Fischer connectivity solutions. WHAT YOU WILL DO IN YOUR ROLE Design and develop innovative products aligned with Fischer’s connectivity solutions, including connectors and complex devices. Lead product development by translating product requirements into technical specifications, driving concept creation and idea generation, and designing components and assemblies using 3D CAD tools in collaboration with design teams. Conduct DFMEA risk assessments, defining technical requirements for product qualification. This includes identifying and ranking risks, developing mitigation plans, and ensuring full implementation and closure of actions. Facilitate design reviews throughout the development lifecycle, including design verification, validation, qualification planning, and key milestone tracking up to production ramp-up. Advance technical knowledge in state-of-the-art connectivity technologies and apply continuous improvement methodologies. Ensure compliance with the Product Development Process (PDP), maintaining robust design control practices and managing engineering changes across the entire Product Life Cycle (PLC). Collaborate effectively within cross-functional, multi-location project teams (Portugal, UK, USA, France, APAC). Lead development projects and sub-projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic objectives. Ensure product quality by applying relevant international standards, engineering tools, and internal Fischer guidelines. THE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS YOU WILL BRING Bachelor or Master’s degree in mechanical, materials or micro-engineering. Background or proven experience in new product development. Background or proven experience in mass production products. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in CAD*. Ansys simulation a plus. Experience in R&D business processes and tools (PDP, PLM*, SAP). Background in V&V process (Verification and Validation) (* PTC suite preferred) WHAT WILL PUT YOU AHEAD Strong passion for new product development and innovation. Communicating effectively and working collaboratively within teams, with a focus on achieving optimal outcomes through shared effort. Strong self-management and time management skills, along with advanced problem-solving, analytical thinking, and sound decision-making capabilities. Maintaining a high level of accountability throughout the development lifecycle – from initial concept and manufacturing phases to final product release and handover to production. Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English and French)
