Empa is a research institution of the ETH Domain is a world-leading group with research focus on the development of novel, biologically inspired flying robots for distributed sensing in air and water and autonomous robotic construction for digital infrastructure systems. The lab is based on a jointly funded Professorship by Empa and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) and is specialised in robot design, hardware development and multi-modal robot mobility Project management Managing collaborative projects with industrial, academic, government and institutional partners Identifying funding opportunities, writing proposals, and maintaining relationships with funding partners Facilitating dialogue between stakeholders, including end-users, scientists and industrial partners Interfacing with funders/partners and managing/preparing progress reports Reporting and documentation: Managing our social media communications and developing campaigns to promote our activities Building and fostering networks of stakeholders and collaborators around our research topics Implementing tools to measure the social and scientific impact of our projects Writing and disseminating content about our research, events, and projects to various audiences (scientific community, public, media) Organizing and participating in events (internal and external) aimed at promoting robotics and its applications Your profile University degree (Master’s, PhD’s or equivalent) in a field related to communication, science, engineering, or management. A specialization in robotics is a plus Proven experience in project management, fundraising, or partnership development Strong knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing tools Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Ability to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German. Swiss-German and French is a plus Strong interest in technology and environment Our offer We are offering a one-year position at Empa, with the possibility of extension, to conduct state-of-the-art research in one of Europe's most dynamic scientific institutions. The position includes access to world-leading testing infrastructure and a global network in Sustainability Robotics and is based at the Empa campus in Dübendorf, near Zurich, Switzerland. Close collaboration and exchange with the EPFL in Lausanne is also part of the role. Applications are open immediately and the first evaluation will start on 16 June 2025.
