Quality Assurance Engineer (all genders) We are mission critical Beyond Gravity, headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, is the first startup to combine agility, speed and innovation with decades of experience and proven quality. Around 1600 employees at 12 locations in six countries (Switzerland, Sweden, Austria, Germany, USA and Finland) develop and manufacture products for satellites and launch vehicles with the goal of advancing humankind and enabling the exploration of the world and beyond. Beyond Gravity is the preferred supplier of structures for all types of launch vehicles and a leader in selected satellite products and for constellations in the New Space sector. Beyond Gravity also uses its space knowledge for applications outside of space technology: The high-precision products have already been used in the semiconductor industry for more than 20 years. Your responsibilities Develop and implement product assurance policies and procedures within the company and ensure compliance with applicable space industry standards, customer specifications and general regulations Act as main interface for Customers and Suppliers for all quality and safety topics Supervise and direct Product Development and Qualification for all relevant quality aspects Lead NC and failure investigation whenever product requirements are violated Preparation of Product Assurance documentation in accordance with Project Milestones Participation in the Continuous Improvement process of the Quality department Your profile University degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Materials Engineering or comparable qualification Knowledge of standards such as EN9100, ECSS, NASA and MIL Ability to quickly understand and analyze technical products/systems and their function Proven track record of experience in a similar role Excellent writing and reporting skills Excellent communication skills and ease at working across different cultures and different levels of an organization Language: Fluent English is a prerequisite, skills in German is a plus What we offer Work in an international environment with global mindset and high-tech products that will fly into space A highly specialized and motivated team with a lot of know-how in a unique industry We live a hands-on mentality and take suggestions for improvement seriously Attractive employment conditions (contribution to public transport, trainings and development opportunities, full paid maternity/paternity leave and many more) Flexible and mobile working and at least 5 weeks of vacation with possibility to buy additional vacation We do not accept dossiers from recruitment agencies for this position. Your Responsibilities Define, plan, coordinate, evaluate and document the development, characterization, and qualification of materials and manufacturing processes. Prepare and presents technical & technological presentations and documents in English during negotiations and reviews internally, with customers, and with suppliers. Work cross-functionally with operations and quality to define work instructions, specifications, equipment, materials, inspections, and training. Support the quality department in obsolescence management, defining and qualifying alternatives. Support the supply chain and quality department for supplier and internal audits as material & process expert Your Profil Master’s degree or higher in Material Science, Mechanical or Aerospace engineering Minimum 5 years’ experience in an equivalent field Profound knowledge of materials & processes in the following fields: Non-metallic materials, in particular resins and adhesives bonding and curing materials & processes; Metallic materials & processes, surface treatments, galvanic processes, soldering, crimping. Your Responsibilities From customer specification develop, robust, reliable, accurate and cost-efficient technical solutions in collaboration with engineers, manufacturing, and suppliers Apply mechanical and electrical design rules, dimensioning and tolerances, select materials and components acc. to established standards Create proper and well-structured 3D models and 2D drawings (technical drawings for manufacturing, assembly drawing, interface drawing, wiring diagram, parts, PCB). Elaborate the Bill of Materials (BOM / parts list) of a new product Elaborate technical documentation such as: Assembly instructions, manufacturing reports, dimensions control, flowcharts, etc. Ensure delivery of designs and drawings packages in due time Your Profil CFC industrial designer in mechanical design with at least 3-5 years’ experience or technician ES oriented towards mechanical or mechanical engineer (HES) or equivalent Experience in designing, dimensioning, and applying of tolerances for mechanical components and creating required data formats and drawings Experience in electro-mechanic design (e.g. aerospace, vacuum, instruments, military industries, MedTech,) Good knowledge of CAD / CAM systems such as PTC CREO, CATIA V5, Siemens NX. We're not just building crucial products for the satellites, launchers and semiconductor industry, we’re helping to improve life on earth. your mission The Quality Manager Sliprings should be the Quality champion of the site He/She will lead the Team (20%) and have an operational role (80%) with key products and clients. We expect the person to: • Be the champion of our products to support quality to customers • Be the reference inside our company to assess quality of our finish products and components • Improve and target best quality standard • Manage the full ISO, norms with your team • Work with R&D, Sales, Production and Project Managers for new products development and Industrialization • Report costs, results and status of Quality improvements. • Manage and develop the team members with training on the standards General: Establish and implement the Quality requirements during all phases of the project. Lead non-conformances activities and lead the associated reviews (internal and customer NRBs) Perform root cause analysis. Define and implement corrective/preventive actions with the appropriate departments and insure their implementations (closure) Edit quality project documentation (PA Plan, FMECA, CIL ...) and review the other project documentation Guarantee the complete traceability and configuration of the project (H/W, requirements and documentation) Review and approve the test results Approve the delivered H/W configuration Customer: Ensure compliancy of the delivered product in regards of the customer requirements Act as the main interface to the customer for all Quality topics and lead the quality gates with customers on site Tailoring of QA plan for project need issuing quality project plan Ensure coherency between PA customers’ requirements and suppliers ones (Supplier specification, audits, etc.) Production: Perform and lead H/W inspection (before assembly, in process and before delivery) with / without customer on site Evaluate H/W defects (surface treatment, shocks, scratch, cleanliness ...) and conformity to product drawing Other: Support bid managers during the campaigns phase (compliance matrix analysis, ...) Prepares KPIs/reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data and shares it with QM Support the PMs in the REX and ensure the quality topics are carefully considered Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed your story Minimum bachelor’s degree in mechanical, materials or electrical engineering Experience in a similar role in Space/ Aerospace or Medical device Industry is a must.
