As a Therapeutic Area Medical Lead Respiratory & Immunology/Vaccines & Infectious Diseases at AstraZeneca, based in Baar, Zug, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of medicine. What you’ll do Manages direct reports in the specified part of a Therapy Area such as Medical Advisors, Medical Science Liaisons, Medical Project Manager and Diagnostics Managers and ensuring that activities are integrated and coordinated. Manages, coaches and monitors the team performance in line with the ambition and values of the organization. Supports development of team members in line with business and individual development needs and plans. Secures the development of a specified part of a Therapy Area and product specific medical plan and impactful local execution in line with global and local strategy and in collaboration with the local cross-functional teams Takes responsibility in development and delivery of an evidence generation plan including support of the team to clinical trials, RWE projects and ESRs. Develops and maintains high-value added relationships with scientific experts, societies and other important decision makers in the specified part of a Therapy Area. Develops and maintains effective internal relationships with colleagues in the local, regional and global teams. Manages a team that ensures all brand materials for a specified part of a Therapy Area are kept up to date and accurate Develops a development plan for the cross-functional teams ensuring scientific knowledge is up-to-date. Ensure and monitor compliance by team members and third parties by (a) positively reinforce all relevant AstraZeneca codes, policies and standards, (b) ensuring completion of all required training, (c) fostering a culture of openness in which employees are comfortable raising questions or concerns, and (d) immediately addressing and reporting, as appropriate, instances of non-compliance. Essential for the role PhD or Master's degree in (Bio)Medical Science, preferably MD or medically trained professional + 5 years leadership experience, managing diverse teams. German and English are essential for the role, French would be an advantage. Minimum 2 years experience in Swiss Healthcare environment. Thorough knowledge or experience of the pharmaceutical industry and the area of Medical Affairs. Knowledge of legislation relevant to pharmaceutical industry. Familiar with Swiss regulatory agencies and processes such as BAG and Swissmedic. Experienced in Respiratory and/or immunology disease area is an advantage. You will own the development of the annual brand strategic plan and launch readiness plans for the indications under your responsibility and coordinate their execution. You will collaborate with regulatory affairs, market access, and medical to ensure adequate implementation of planned activities. You will maintain contacts with opinion leaders and represent our company at scientific and promotional events. You will also be responsible for annual budgeting (costs and sales) and supervising these goals on an ongoing basis. You will be responsible for: Business Insights: Design, lead, and execute qualitative and quantitative strategic analysis initiatives to address key business questions related to commercial products and or operational data. Competitive Intelligence: Proactively monitor industry, product, and competitors, economic trends, all on international, national, and regional levels. Strategy Shaping: Contribute to the development/revision of market strategies and identify actionable insights based on data to sustainably accelerate business performance. Forecasting : Build patient funnels and ambitious & reliable sales forecasts, and act as a partner and challenger for business. Market Research: Conduct and consolidate market research to identify new opportunities, assess the competitive landscape, and support strategic planning. Visualisations: Co-develop adequate Business Intelligence visualisations to transparently assess performance & benchmark across teams & geographies. Performance Monitoring : Track and report on the performance across brands, identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Customer Engagements & Sales Force Effectiveness: Define KPIs, analyse field and CRM engagement data, and deliver insights that sharpen targeting, channel mix, and next-best actions to drive SFE and customer engagement strategy. Reporting: Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that deliver comprehensive insights into commercial performance in close collaboration with the cross-functional team Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in commercial processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness in sales and marketing operations Insight Communication: Present findings and insights to stakeholders and senior management with a high degree of accuracy and appropriate context, providing data-driven recommendations for business strategy.
