What you’ll do Secures the development of a specified part of a Therapy Area and product specific medical plan and impactful local execution in line with global and local strategy and in collaboration with the local cross-functional teams Takes responsibility in development and delivery of an evidence generation plan including support of the team to clinical trials, RWE projects and ESRs. Develops and maintains high-value added relationships with scientific experts, societies and other important decision makers in the specified part of a Therapy Area. Develops and maintains effective internal relationships with colleagues in the local, regional and global teams. Acts as primary reviewer and approver of all plans, projects and materials developed by the cross-functional TA teams Manages a team that ensures all brand materials for a specified part of a Therapy Area are kept up to date and accurate Manages direct reports in the specified part of a Therapy Area such as Medical Advisors, Medical Science Liaisons, Medical Project Manager and Diagnostics Managers and ensuring that activities are integrated and coordinated. Manages, coaches and monitors the team performance in line with the ambition and values of the organization. Supports development of team members in line with business and individual development needs and plans. Develops a development plan for the cross-functional teams ensuring scientific knowledge is up-to-date. Ensure and monitor compliance by team members and third parties by (a) positively reinforce all relevant AstraZeneca codes, policies and standards, (b) ensuring completion of all required training, (c) fostering a culture of openness in which employees are comfortable raising questions or concerns, and (d) immediately addressing and reporting, as appropriate, instances of non-compliance. Essential for the role Master's degree in (Bio)Medical Science, preferably MD or medically trained professional Thorough knowledge or experience of the pharmaceutical industry and the area of field medical liaisons Knowledge of legislation relevant to pharmaceutical sales and marketing Experienced in infectious disease and vaccines disease area. Familiar with Swiss regulatory agencies and processes such as BAG, Swissmedic, and infectious diseases and vaccinology bodies such as: SSI & EKIF among others. • Experienced in Respiratory and/or immunology disease area for the Swiss environment When we put unexpected teams in the same room, we unleash bold thinking with the power to inspire life-changing medicines. This includes promotional brand activities, product-related physician and healthcare professional education. We seek candidates who live customer service and patient orientation and can orchestrate their activities across multiple channels based on customer preference and business needs. You are a doer who brings to bear deep customer and patient insights to ensure our patient-centric approach. You can integrate business insights and numbers from reporting tools with your intuition and customer knowledge into winning strategies and tactics. Accountabilities: Demonstrate a deep understanding of key customer needs and requirements Understand collaborative HCP networks and become a trusted partner and advisor Expand existing and develop new relationships with key customers by continuously offering solutions that meet their needs and objectives Apply marketing and medical assets and campaigns for your customer engagement plans in digital and F2F communication Capture and analyse local and regional needs and collaborate with other field functions and in-office colleagues to develop and offer suitable solutions and information materials Collaborate with customers to develop ideas and implement customer facing projects that improve patient care and improve treatment pathways Crucial for the role Strong track record in pharma sales and/or marketing, launch experience is highly preferred Prior haematology experience Good strategic and analytical skills Strong project management skills Experience with different commercial and digital channels Excellent collaboration and teamwork capabilities Excellent communication and influencing ability Good knowledge in market ethical rules Proficiency in German and English is a must, French is a plus Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent, in Science and/or Business Why AstraZeneca? Medical excellence and Market Access Case manager (FTE: (80-100%) Location: Switzerland Typer: Permanent FTE: Full time or 80% FTE Please submit your resume in English About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Medical Excellence and Market Access Case Manager to join our Alpine Medical Affairs team within the CENE area. In this integral position, you will drive effective medical strategies and innovative market access activities focused on our therapeutic areas. As a vital member of our team, you will plan and implement medical and market access initiatives, supporting therapeutic area teams and serving as the key medical contact for stakeholders, including healthcare professionals and social & health insurances. Key Responsibilities: Medical Responsibilities: Reactive Medical Management for potential indications (depending on life cycle): Approve Commercial materials, provide Market Access support for negotiations. Provide medical information support. Conduct occasional visits to healthcare professionals as necessary. Local Registries: Administer and follow up with centers and investigators. Prepare reports for the Federal Office of Public Health (BAG). Early Access Administrative Support and Reapprovals: Patient Support Program Oversight Medical Excellence Champion for processes and reporting Market Access Case Management Responsibilities: Switzerland: Case Management Leadership for KVV Art. 71 and Invalid Insurance Austria: Management of Claw-backs from DVSV Prerequisites for the Role: Advanced Degree: MD, PharmD, or PhD in medical science. Experience: At least 1-3 years in medical affairs; market access experience is a plus. Knowledge: Solid background in related therapeutic areas, especially in rare disease settings. Understanding of drug development and lifecycle management.Familiarity with clinical development, including trials, registries, and real-world evidence (RWE). Regulatory Insight: Knowledge of local pharmaceutical regulations such as pharmacodex. Skills: Solutions-oriented mindset; ability to thrive in complex environments. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and German. Strong interest in healthcare systems and regulations Preferred Qualifications: Experience with budget and financial planning. Previous experience in the rare disease field. IT skills, including digital tool utilization. Strategic thinking and strong planning abilities. Knowledge of the healthcare system in the Alpine region. Additional language skills in French and Italian. This role requires a proactive individual with strong leadership and communication skills, capable of managing multiple complex processes across medical and market access domains.
