We are recruiting a Lead Finance Business Partner responsible for the BBU ( BioPharmaceuticals Business Unit ) entity of the Swiss Marketing Company, located in Baar, Zug. https://www.astrazeneca.ch/en In this role you will act as the strategic sounding board and financial sparring partner for internal colleagues across commercial, medical, and market access functions, as well as the Senior Leadership team of the organization. With a balanced approach of high-level strategic insight as well as solid business and finance understanding, you ask critical questions and provide independent advice, both solicited and unsolicited. As a Finance Business Partner, you will share responsibility for delivering the financial and commercial objectives of the Swiss BBU. Reporting to the CFO Switzerland, you play a key role in shaping the financial future of the BBU entity. Responsibilities of this role will cover: Strategic/ Operational Business Partnering: Act as the right-hand person to the CFO for BBU business finance matters Develop close relationships with the Senior Leadership Team, becoming a trusted business partner and their first point of contact on financial matters Be a strong, visible and influencing business partner in cross-functional teams, bringing the finance perspective, advising and asking challenging questions in the right way. Collaborate with the Business Insights Manager to integrate market data and analytics into financial strategies and decisions. Provide high quality financial and commercial input/insight to business cases (e.g. launch, investment decisions, market access, pricing & reimbursement). Have joint accountability with the business for the accuracy of forecasts, with an excellent understanding of the business model and financial drivers and ensure the appropriate investment / resourcing. Provide coaching and mentoring for new/junior members of the team, including colleagues from the Global Finance Services (GFS) Team in Warsaw Lead/Contribute to initiatives/projects and volunteer when help is sought Build and leverage your network with peers in other markets, as well as Area, Regional and Global finance functions, contributing actively to best practices sharing Develop the financial understanding of the non-finance colleagues Financial Planning and Reporting: Lead the BBU financial and business planning/forecasting cycles and reviews, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Take ownership of BBU investments as well as shared investments between BBU and OBU, leading discussions on cost planning and allocations. Provide the financial support and challenge necessary to allocate investments appropriately to maximize product profitability. Challenge key forecasting assumptions based on analysis & benchmarking, identify risks & opportunities. Be an active contributor to our strategic alliances, and monitoring performance. Track progress and translate the outcomes into actionable financial recommendations. Prepare the presentations for key finance and business review meetings Drive P&L management, ensure accurate monthly, quarterly and annual P&L reporting, cost control and resource allocation. Track business performance, prepare variance analysis to deliver insightful management information Work closely with the OBU Finance Business Partner, the FP&A Manager, the GFS Team and the Financial Controller to ensure fit for purpose, efficient and compliant finance processes and ways of working Identify and act on continuous improvement and simplification (e.g. leverage technology, processes, governance). Your profile We seek a dynamic individual with a proven track record in financial business partnering, strong leadership skills, and the ability to influence and drive results. Qualified finance professional. 5+ years of Finance Business Partnering/ Controlling experience within an international commercial organization, preferably Pharma, Biotech. Desired understanding of the drug development life cycle, commercial as well as market access and pricing aspects. Excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Fluent German a plus. Affinity with leveraging new technologies Experience with financial systems (SAP, SmartView or other reporting systems) and able to learn fast new systems. Advanced Excel skills. Good Power BI knowledge desired. Competencies Problem solving & solution orientation; Able to handle of complex tasks; Critical and quick thinking; Decision-making ability and goal-orientation Interest in, and ability to understand complex scientific data, translating them into financial implications Analytical capacity. Ability to navigate high volumes of data and to make connections between various data sources. Attention to detail while being able to maintain the helicopter view Very good interpersonal skills. Understand and navigate successfully cross-functional dynamics. Shows empathy and has a positive impact on the audience. Convincing, able to influence various stakeholders, senior management as well as colleagues with no direct reporting line. Regulatory Affairs Manager for Austria and Switzerland (Alpine region) Reports to: Associate Director, CENE Regulatory Affairs Location: Baar, Switzerland Introduction to Role: The Regulatory Affairs Manager works under the responsibility of the Associate Director, CENE Regulatory Affairs to ensure regulatory compliance of drugs commercialized by Alexion in the Alpine region (incl. Liechtenstein) in accordance with the applicable relevant regulations, processes, and standards. The Regulatory Affairs Manager acts as the link between Alexion and the National Competent Authority (NCA) on all regulatory submissions and discussions in the Alpine region, as well as other stakeholders inside and outside Alexion. The Regulatory Affairs Manager is responsible for regulatory compliance of Alexion’s authorised products in line with all applicable regulations as well as in line with the company's SOPs/policies. Detailed accountabilities: Submits marketing authorization and life cycle management applications to the Swiss Health Authority (Swissmedic), including using innovative and accelerated application procedures to expedite market access Manages local implementation activities of centrally registered products Coordinates Swissmedic List of Questions with the Global Regulatory Affairs team and negotiates local post-approval commitments, including submission due dates. Liaises with regulatory agencies as required including the coordination of NCA meetings Prepares and updates labeling and artwork in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures in the event of labeling changes. Ensures all local submission/application correspondence is appropriately communicated, filed and archived as per SOPs/policies Other accountabilities: Provides input into clinical trial strategies as required Participates in inspections, audits Participates in Compassionate Use Program, EAP or post-trial access management Manages local vendors supporting the regulatory function and plans local RA budget Performs other country-specific tasks in accordance local regulatory requirements Crucial Skills/Experience: 3-5 years' experience in the pharma/biotech industry within a similar position. Experience in regulatory submissions to Swissmedic (2-3 years) In-depth knowledge of the regulatory framework in the Alpine region, with a focus on Switzerland Strong understanding of the EU regulatory framework for centrally authorized medicinal products Experience with document management, artwork and eCTD submission systems Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams Ability to work independently and efficiently under time pressure Proficiency in both German and English Why join us?
