is inviting applications for two Graduate Assistant / PhD positions in Sports Law.

Expected start date in position : April 1, 2025 or to be agreed
Contract length : 1 year, renewable 2 x 2 years, maximum 5 years
Activity rate : 80%
Workplace : Lausanne Dorigny, Switzerland
Your responsibilities
- 50% of the activity rate is dedicated to the completion of a doctoral thesis;
- 50% max. of the activity rate is devoted to assistant tasks (support for teaching, student supervision and research).
Your qualifications
- Master's degree in law or other degree giving access to admission for a doctorate in law at the University of Lausanne (Doctorat en Droit - Ecole de droit UNIL); obtained prior to the commencement of employment.
- Strong motivation for research and preparation of a thesis on one of the unit’s research orientations in sports law:
o Regulation of international sports, in particular in terms of integrity (anti-doping, safeguarding) or gender;
o Role of evidence and scientific expertise in sports policy and adjudication;
o Interface between sport and human rights.
- Writing, analytical and synthesis skills; autonomy; problem-solving ability.
- Interest for working in an interdisciplinary research environment.
- Excellent knowledge of English (incl. writing). Fluency in French and knowledge of German (understanding of legal German) are assets.
- Additional assets: bachelor and/or master's degree in Swiss law, previous research experience, practical experience (attorney practice or experience in sports organisations), experience in project management/event organisation.
