      Presentation

      In order to complete our team, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences and the Institute of Sports Sciences of the University of Lausanne (ISSUL) wishes to expand its team by recruting a :

      ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
      IN REGULATION AND INTEGRITY OF SPORT

      Description

      In your functions, you will have to :

      Teaching (45%)
      Six hours (6) a week of teaching throughout the year at Bachelor’s and Master’s level. Additionaly supervision of Master’s dissertations and PhD theses.

      Research (45%)
      The post-holder will pursue their own research in the social sciences in the field of regulation and integrity of sport: combating doping and forms of violence in sport, including gender-based violence, analysis of the role of science and medicine in the regulation of sport, study of corruption in sport, or expert appraisal of ethical questions in sport. They may be asked to lead the Centre of Research & Expertise in anti-Doping Sciences (REDs) and to pursue research in conjunction with the Interdisciplinary Centre for Sports Research (CIRSport), the Global Sports and Olympic Studies Centre (CEOGS) and the incubator of the Global Observatory for Gender Equality & Sport. It is expected that the post-holder will be affiliated to one of the research centres in the Faculty of Sports Sciences at the University of Lausanne.

      They will also seek external funding, in particular from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).

      Administrative responsibilities (10%)
      In accordance with statutory requirements and in the name of collegiality, the post-holder will take on any administrative tasks that may be assigned to them by the Institute, Faculty, University or university decision-making bodies.

      Requirements

      In order to complete our team, we are looking for someone with the following skills :

      • PhD in sports sciences, social sciences or equivalent
      • Academic teaching experience in the field of regulation and/or integrity of sport.
      • Proven record of very high-quality research in the field of regulation and/or integrity of sport (doping, violence, corruption, science and medicine, or inclusion) with a disciplinary orientation towards the social sciences.
      • Good links with international research networks.
      • Proficiency in French and English, orally and in writing.
      • Ability to teach in French within two years.
